DESCRIPTION AKA Great Orange tip. This is a large butterfly from the family Pieridae. The colouration is lemon with lovely bright orange tips on the top of the forewings ( apical area ) highlighted with a black dot. The female adults can be found drinking nectar from a species of Cassia plant whilst the male imbibes rich mineralised moisture from riverbanks. The underside is well camouflaged so when resting they blend in well with tree foliage.
