DESCRIPTION AKA The Common Blue Charaxes. Inky dark blue markings on this butterfly from the family Nymphalidae. It is a common forest butterfly found in the lowland evergreen forests of several African countries (Larsen, 2005a). Males defend territories from perches high up and are very partial to excrement and rotting carcasses (Larsen, 2005a).
