DESCRIPTION Fabulous death trio insect frame.
Acherontia atropos - AKA Deaths Head Hawk moth. Found throughout tropical Africa and Europe this large hawkmoth (ranging from 85-125mm) Acherontia atropos has a fearsome reputation as it was traditionally seen as an omen of death.
Eucorysses grandis - AKA Death head bug. If you look closely, you can see his skull like face. Indigenous communities believe that this bug is an omen and death to your family will result if this bug is killed.
Heuchys incarnata - AKA Red Devil cicada. Beautiful red bodied cicada. It is thought that the sound produced by some communal species can act as a defense against predatory birds and some are even loud enough (120 decibels) to be painful to the human ear. Cicadas also often sing in chorus, which makes it more difficult for a predator to locate an individual.
Please note - due to the extremely fragile nature of these specimens, some tiny glue marks may be visible on / around the specimen, generally visible (if applicable) around any protruding legs. These are still considered to be in A1 condition.
