DESCRIPTION AKA Elephant hawk moth is a moth in the family Sphingidae. The name of this moth is derived from the caterpillar's similarity to an elephant's trunk.
The adults are apretty coloured pink and green with a hint of gold. They fly from May to July in Europe and feed on flowers such as honeysuckle (Lonicera) for nectar. they are mainly fond in wooded grasslands gardens and parks. Wingspan 45-60 mm.
This species was hand reared.
