DESCRIPTION AKA Leaf-nosed bat. This bat has a wingspan of up tp 21cms with large ears and a horse-shoe shaped nose leaf. Widely distributed with large populations throughout South East Asia from India to China to Thailand and Malaysia. This species can be found in colonies of up to 50,000 individuals. Roosts include mainly within caves. Its flight is fast due to its long narrow wings and feeds mainly on insects.
Non threatened species. Legally imported into Australia with appropriate permits non CITES species.
