DESCRIPTION AKA lesser Thailand bird eating tarantula. Aggressive burrowing non poisonous spider commonly eaten by the locals. It hides in its burrow and only appears for a few hours each night to prey on small creatures that pass by its burrow.
The colouring on this spider is black / brown velvet. Males only live from 2-4 years whilst females can live up to 12 years
Tarantulas have oversized fangs. When they bite a human ( rare ) they can take a chunk of skin out at the bite site. However the venom is mild so you won't die but you might die from infection if the wound becomes infected ( sepsis ) and no treatment is sought.
These specimens are XL in size.
