DESCRIPTION Trogonoptera brookiana - AKA Rajah Brooke's birdwing. Large butterfly with small metallic green triangle markings on wings. Butterflies are mainly found tropical rainforest habitats and feed on the flowers of Bauhinia trees and lantana. A beautiful blue sheen runs from the base of the wing upward meeting the metallic green halfway discally. named by the famous naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace in 1855 after James Brooke , the Rajah of Sarawak.

Trogonoptera trojana - AKA Palawan birdwing / triangle birdwing. Endemic to the island of Palawan in the Philippines. Large butterfly with small metallic green triangle markings on wings. Butterflies are mainly found in woodland areas feeding on climbing Bauhinia and larvae feed on the Aristolochia vine. A beautiful blue sheen runs from the base of the wing upward meeting the metallic green halfway discally.
